Dyslexia
Personal Project
Narrative:
Taking you on a journey of typographic chaos, where you explore my struggle with dyslexia and how I use artificial intelligence to help with it.
Goal:
I wanted to develop more of my typography skills through a title sequence, bringing life to typography while telling the story of my dyslexia.
Process:
It was a really fun project exploring how I would animate the typography in different ways. What helped most was having a clear idea and storyboard to help me construct the message I wanted to express.
Storyboard:
I had a clear idea and message, but the storyboard helped me with the layout and structure of the message.
Illustrator:
I wanted to design the board in Illustrator as it would help me layout the typography and quickly get design ideas before animation. It was very easy to create the paper shape as well, resulting in a very clean design.
After Effects:
I used a range of techniques, such as converting the Illustrator text into shape layers that allowed me to wrap, bend, and stretch the typeface as I liked. The big factor was using a paper texture for the typography, which gave it more character.
Audition:
It was my first time using Audition, and I learned the basics from YouTube. I had the perfect audio to create my animation and cut it to the right length.
